Community standards and professional guidelines for all Payment Intelligence Industry Council members, participants, and stakeholders.

Our Commitment

The Payment Intelligence Industry Council is committed to fostering an inclusive, professional, and collaborative environment for all members, participants, and stakeholders. This Code of Conduct outlines our shared values and expected behaviors across all PI Council activities, events, and communications.

By participating in PI Council activities, you agree to uphold these standards and contribute to a positive, productive community focused on advancing payment intelligence practices.

Expected Behavior

All participants are expected to:

  • Act professionally in all interactions, maintaining courtesy and respect
  • Foster inclusivity by welcoming diverse perspectives and backgrounds
  • Collaborate constructively and share knowledge for mutual benefit
  • Respect confidentiality and proprietary information shared in trust
  • Focus on facts and evidence in discussions and decision-making
  • Give credit where due and acknowledge contributions of others

Unacceptable Behavior

The following behaviors are considered unacceptable and may result in removal from PI Council activities:

  • Harassment or discrimination based on any personal characteristics
  • Abusive, threatening, or intimidating language or behavior
  • Sharing confidential information without proper authorization
  • Misrepresenting affiliations or making unauthorized commitments
  • Disrupting events or discussions in a manner that impedes progress
  • Plagiarism or intellectual property violations

Professional Standards

Conflict of Interest

Members must disclose any potential conflicts of interest that could influence their participation in PI Council activities or decision-making processes.

Intellectual Property

Respect all intellectual property rights. Do not share, reproduce, or use proprietary information without explicit permission from the owner.

Confidentiality

Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information shared during PI Council activities, including member discussions and proprietary research.

Representation

Clearly distinguish between personal opinions and official positions when speaking about PI Council matters in public forums.

Scope of Application

This Code of Conduct applies to all PI Council spaces and activities, including:

  • • Official meetings and events
  • • Online forums and communications
  • • Research collaborations
  • • Public presentations and publications
  • • Social media interactions
  • • Networking events
  • • Partner organization activities
  • • Any space representing PI Council

Reporting Violations

If you experience or witness behavior that violates this Code of Conduct, please report it promptly. All reports will be handled confidentially and investigated thoroughly.

How to Report

Reports can be made through any of the following channels:

  • • Direct communication with PI Council leadership
  • • Anonymous reporting through our secure online form
  • • Email to our dedicated conduct team
  • • During any official PI Council meeting or event

Enforcement

Investigation Process

All reported violations will be investigated promptly and fairly. The investigation process includes gathering information from all parties involved and reviewing relevant evidence.

Consequences

Depending on the severity and nature of the violation, consequences may include:

  • • Warning and coaching
  • • Temporary suspension from activities
  • • Removal from specific projects or committees
  • • Permanent exclusion from PI Council activities

Appeals Process

Individuals who believe they have been unfairly sanctioned may appeal the decision through our formal appeals process, which includes review by an independent panel.
